Gina Mariela Rodríguez is a mother, writer, educator and birth doula living in Providence, RI. Identifying as an AfroTainoCubanSicilian, Gina often finds herself writing her way home, tracing the footsteps of her ancestors and future children in her travels. Gina graduated from Brown University with a degree in Africana Studies, and there also became a child of Rites and Reason Theatre. Along with her life-partner and close friends, Gina is a co-founder and organizer of the Confluence, an annual intergenerational climate justice retreat for folks of color. Following her passion for arts and justice, Gina works with artists of color organizations through her fellowship with the RI Expansion Arts Program. Trained by toLabor, Gina is working towards her doula certification while attending births, and dreams of building a holistic care center for women in Providence.
